Disney/Pixar to Receive Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival

American director and producer George Lucas (and creator of the Star Wars saga) will present John Lasseter and the directors of Disney/Pixar–Brad Bird, Pete Docter, Andrew Stanton and Lee Unkrich–with the prestigious Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement of the 66th Venice International Film Festival, which runs from Sept. 2-12.

Lasseter, Bird, Docter and Stanton are all CalArts grads. Here’s a fun little video (above) from Comic-Con 2009 of director and fellow alum John Musker (Aladdin, The Little Mermaid) pointing out a couple of their famous faces in the CalArts class photo from 1976.
