Earlier this month, more than 30 CalArtian artists traveled to Essen, Germany, to present a series of installations, performances and exhibitions for CalArts Plays Itself at PACT Zolverein. CalArts’ first major international showcase featured projects from each of the Institute’s schools for four days (Sept. 29-Oct. 2).

The above photo gallery illustrates many of the projects presented at PACT. All photos and video were taken by Jon Rutzmoser.

The program culminated in a series of performances which were then live-streamed to an audience in the United States. These performances were recorded and can be watched on the International blog.

The video below features violist Heather Lockie (Music MFA 12) and bassoonist Archie Carey (Music MFA 11) experimenting with acoustics in various locations at PACT Zolverein.
