Tonight in CalArts’ Bijou Theater at 7 pm, Acme Filmworks and Animation World Network present the 13th Annual Animation Show of Shows, which features nine award-winning and notable animated short films “culled from the world’s leading 2011 animation festivals.” The touring program is part of the ongoing Structuring Strategies screening series at CalArts.
Curated and presented by Acme Filmworks Executive Producer Ron Diamond, the evening includes screenings and discussion. In addition, filmmakers Juan Pablo Zaramella (director of Luminaris) as well as Damian Nenow (director of Paths of Hate) will be in attendance.
Diamond travels to multiple film festivals and universities annually to discover talented animators who explore unusual techniques and modes of storytelling—many of whom are featured in the show.
