Happy Holidays from CalArts

CalArts wishes all of its students, staff, faculty, alumni and their families a happy holiday season. The Institute’s administrative offices are closed through Jan. 2, 2012. Normal hours and operations resume on Jan. 3.

The 24700 blog will be posting occasionally throughout the break, so come back and check out new stories on the art that members of the CalArts community are creating throughout the world.

We leave you with CalArts 2011 holiday card, featuring the Trimpin-crafted robotic instrument—Jackbox—playing “Jingle Bells.”

Sound sculptor Trimpin has been a guest faculty member at CalArts for many years and a 2010 recipient of an honorary degree from the Institute. He’s graciously loaned Jackbox to CalArts’ Program in Music Technology for the next three years.
