CalArts School of Film/Video faculty member Jon Gomez (Film/Video BFA 07) is best known for his work as an animator, having worked on projects for Pixar, Disney Imagineering and ABC.

For the next few weeks, visitors are invited to experience another side of Gomez’s work as he presents an exhibit of 13 original drawings in the exhibition Divine Gluttony at the Nye + Brown gallery in Culver City.

Gomez, who teaches Life Drawing at CalArts, places an emphasis on gesture, observation, fluidity, rhythm, tempo and emotion in his class.

For Divine Gluttony, his works address a different perspective: Undulating flesh takes center stage, and “traditional beauty and symmetry are repugnant, stale and lifeless.”

The exhibit also features the work of CalArts alumnus Kaylan George (Art BFA 10).
