LA Choreographers Create New Work Inspired by Vivaldi’s Four Seasons

Beginning Thursday (Nov. 12), L.A. Contemporary Dance Company (LACDC) presents four nights of new choreography in Four Seasons at the Atwater Village Theatre in Los Angeles. Inspired by Antonio Vivaldi’s classical masterpiece, four LA-based choreographers bring each season to life with all-new movement, accompanied by an original score composed by Eric Mason.

Among the choreographers is Artistic Director of the performance group Acts of Matter and CalArts alumna Rebecca Lemme (Dance MFA 13), who creates a new dance piece for “Fall.” Rounding out the list are dance artists Laurel Tentindo for “Spring,” Mecca Vazie Andrews for “Summer” and Rosalynde LeBlanc for “Winter.”

LACDC is a nonprofit, resident dance company based in downtown Los Angeles at the Brewery Arts Complex. Its diverse repertoire of modern, ballet and jazz influenced works strives to represent LA’s vibrant culture.

Four Seasons runs through Nov. 15.
