From Aug. 5-9, this year’s graduates from CalArts’ Programs in Art, Art and Technology and Photography and Media present work in Clothing Optional at Night Gallery in Los Angeles, with an opening reception on Aug. 5.

More from the event listing:

The exhibit features work by 30 artists, all recent graduates of CalArts, whose practices use an extensive range of media and explore a vast variety of topics. CalArts’ unbound curriculum, which is built individually by the artist, leads to a wide range of content that is fortified by the Institute’s six schools… The art school has a foundation embedded with feminist discourse, practices dependent on the artist’s actions and voice and a sense of community.

The artists exhibiting work are Yair Agmon, Deirdre Bailey, Maya Beaudry, Charmaine Bee, Niels Bugge, Joestine Con-ui, Courtney Cone, Hagar Cygler, Maria Bang Espersen, Lorena Espitia, Joshua Evan, Geir Foshaug, Isabelle Harada, SeJin Hyun, Jeanine Lewis, Tyler Lumm, Emily Marchand, Corey McGhee, Mariner Padwa, peckingnets, Jaklin Romine, AJ Strout, Jack Taylor, Efrain Torres, Matt Town, Jazmin Urrea, Amanda Vincelli, John Wu and Sichong Xie.

I am a grad of CalArts. This exhibit definitely describes the art school, and it’s mission very well. It was a very exciting and creative time for me, when I attended. The school is certainly free form, within its own structure, which is a wonderful thing. I am glad to have gone!
