For the past 12 years, Scott Groller has worked as one of CalArts’ official photographers, chronicling the day-to-day life of the Institute. But Groller is also an artist–and the photos in this post are from his personal Photo Booth collection, captured at the CalArts’ Halloween 09 party.
He crafted a photo booth from a plywood box, inserted his digital SLR camera and hooked it up to a computer to take images every six seconds. Lit only by a Chinese lantern hanging above the box, students lined up throughout the evening to pose for the camera. There are more than 1,000 images to sort through on his site, but we’ve selected a few to whet your collective appetites.
