A new exhibit Michael, Kevin & Geoff opened at HVW8 Gallery in Los Angeles last week featuring works on paper of three friends–and CalArts grads–Michael Leon (Art BFA 99), Geoff McFetridge (Art MFA 95) and Kevin Lyons (Art MFA 96).
Here are three tidbits we learned about the artists from this exhibit:
- Leon, a Portland, Ore.-based artist and designer, created the 20 prints/paintings for Michael, Kevin & Geoff during one week in London;
- LA-based McFetridge once worked as the art director of the Beastie Boys’ underground magazine Grand Royal; and
- Lyons, NYC-based typographer, art director and teacher, has served as the Global Creative Director for the alternative retail giant Urban Outfitters.
24700 has posted a few pieces from the exhibit (above), but HVW8 has posted photos of the artists at work during the show installation and the opening night photos.
The exhibit runs through Dec. 20.
