Alums Michael Polish, David Mullen and Kubilay Uner Hold Workshop at Bijou Theater on Friday

Michael Polish (Art BFA 92), M.David Mullen (Film/Video MFA 91) and Kubilay Uner (Music MFA 91) returned to CalArts on Friday afternoon as guest lecturers in the Bijou Theater, taking to students and other audience members on their respective careers in the film industry.

All three worked together on Stay Cool, a comedy directed by Polish and written and starring his brother Mark as a man returning to give a commencement speech at his old high school. Filmed in Santa Clarita, the movie featured some notable Hollywood names: Hillary Duff, Wynona Rider and Chevy Chase. The film is expected to be released in 2010.

Earlier Polish Brothers films included the independent and critically hailed The Astronaut Farmer (2006), Northfork (2003), Twin Falls Idaho and Jackpot (2001). On all these films, Mullen has worked as cinematographer or director or photography.
