ROD Hall Concert Archive Now Online

ROD Camera

A jazz/improvisational concert by MFA student Steve Blum from the ROD.

Visiting artists and students at The Herb Alpert School of Music at CalArts perform classical, world music, experimental music–and everything in between–in Roy O. Disney Hall (ROD). Now audiences outside of the Valencia campus have a chance to see and listen to concerts on their computers.

A muted “concert camera” live streams from the ROD stage 24/7, capturing images from rehearsals and classes. But the audio feed  is enabled during during concerts, which generally occur at 8 pm PST. Tonight’s featured event is an MFA mid-residency concert by pianist Missy Alcazar featuring works by Granados, Garuta, Bach and others. (Check CalArts’ calendar for upcoming performances.)

The Herb Alpert School of Music also recently released the ROD Concert Hall Archive, with more than 100 student and visiting artist concerts available to the public, dating back to Feb. 2006.

To access the ROD live feed and search the archive, please visit The Herb Alpert School of Music site.
