This weekend marks the final program of REDCAT’s NOW Festival, a three-weekend festival that celebrates artists who challenge the boundaries of their art forms. The current program features three experiments that, according to REDCAT, “examine the individual as an active performer within larger social, political and mythological landscapes through animation, video feeds, and audio loops layered with live performance.”
Performers and works for tonight and tomorrow’s performances are: Alexandro Segade in Replicant vs. Separatist; dance artist Hana van der Kolk in Once More, Again, One (Solo); and performance artist Miwa Matreyek (Film/Video MFA 07), who’s best known for her work with the Cloud Eye Control multimedia collective.
We posted a video of 2009 excerpts, above, from Once More, Again, One. Choreography by Hana van der Kolk, performed by Greg Barnett, Megan May Daalder, Jane Pickett and Justin Streichman, with Lighting Design by Chris Kuhl.
