One of the more highly anticipated Graphic Design events of the year takes place on Thursday night in CalArts’ dining hall: the 2011 CalArts T-Shirt Show. The annual show, presented by the CalArts AIGA Student Association and the Graphic Design Program, will feature more than 60 T-shirt designs by CalArts students, faculty, staff and alumni.
Bijan Berahimi, one of the six student curators, says that the project is a collaboration between BFA and MFA design students. The proceeds from the sale go to CalArts’ AIGA account, which funds events like the annual AIGA BBQ in the Fall, as well as workshops and visiting designers’ expenses.
“Since this years shirts were donated [by Alternative Apparel], we are hoping to host an additional event next year with the extra money,” Berahimi said. “This show is our biggest fundraiser of the year.”
We’ve posted a few designs above, but check out all the shirts on the CalArts T-Shirt Show website.
The shirts are $10 each. Cash only.
