Known for his iconic work, Killer of Sheep, along with other critically acclaimed films such as Nightjohn, When It Rains and To Sleep With Anger, Burnett will balance teaching with several professional commitments already in the works.

In an announcement to the Film Directing Program students, faculty and staff, Film Directing Program Co-Directors Deborah LaVine and Gary Mairs noted, “This is an extraordinary opportunity to work closely with a filmmaker of distinction, vision and passion.”

Besides engaging with students during the Guest Artist Workshop and set office hours, Burnett will teach Advanced Screenwriting and Project Development in the Fall semester and Cinematic Storytelling and another course in the Spring.
