Last Thursday (Nov. 10), the First Annual Art & Beer Invitational—On Tap—took over the Bowmont Art Partners space at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles. Eschewing the standard red and white wine offered at most art openings, the event featured a curated selection of California craft beers from Dale Bros. Brewery and a silent art auction with proceeds to benefit East of Borneo, a collaborative online magazine of LA’s contemporary art scene and its history, published by the School of Art at CalArts.

Exhibition curators Lauri Firstenberg (LAXART), School of Art Dean Thomas Lawson (CalArts), Franklin Sirmans (LACMA), Ali Subotnick (Hammer Museum) and Dean Valentine (Bowmont Art Partners) chose more than 40 works for the auction by young and emerging artists.

Participating in the invitational were artists Joshua Callaghan, Audrey Chan, Zoe Crosher, Asad Faulwell, Patricia Fernandez, Liz Glynn, Peter Harkawik, Loren Holland, Sanya Kantarovsky, Andrew Lewicki, Caitlin Lonegan, Dashiell Manley, Matthias Merkel Hess, Allison Miller, Lesley Moon, Alex Olson, Marina Pinsky, Chadwick Rantanen, Fay Ray and Sarah Rossiter.

We posted a gallery above with highlights from the event.
