Sneak Preview: Actors Showcase in LA

CalArts Actors Showcase 2012 from CalArts on Vimeo.

On Monday (April 23), graduating MFA and BFA acting students from CalArts’ School of Theater participate in the West Coast installment of Actors Showcase at the Falcon Theater in Burbank. After a successful run at the New York Theater Workshop last month, the 33 actors—directed by Robert Cucuzza (Theater MFA 11)—re-create their scenes for Southern California-based agents, producers, managers, theater companies and other industry professionals.

For the first time, a video component has been added to the event. (We’ve posted a sneak preview of Showcase’s opening film montage, above.)

“The short film tries to capture the essence of each actor’s personality,” says Showcase producer Aaron L. McKinney. “It’s also a way for industry professionals to see the actors on screen, which is especially important for film and television productions.”

Only a few seats remain for each of the three scheduled Showcase performances. Please RSVP to attend.
