CalArts Entertainment Group, the new alumni networking program that provides local entertainment professionals with access to industry leaders and peers, recently presented an intimate conversation with actor Don Cheadle (Theater BFA 86) at REDCAT on May 8.
Fielding questions from Deborah LaVine, co-director of CalArts’ Film Directing Program, Cheadle discussed the ins and outs of the acting business, and how he has been able to survive and thrive in its demanding, competitive atmosphere.
Cheadle’s career has continuously challenged audiences with compelling performances in film and television: The actor has earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor for his performance in Hotel Rwanda, a Best Supporting Actor Award from the Los Angeles Film Critics for Devil in a Blue Dress and a Best Supporting Actor BAFTA nomination for Crash.
