JiSoo Kim’s ‘Thembi’s Diary’ screened at Animafest 2012 last month.
In addition to a CalArts retrospective at the Annecy Film Festival and a selection in the Los Angeles Film Festival, many other CalArtian films are currently making the rounds of the international festival circuit, and we’re keeping tabs on where students, alumni and faculty are screening around the world this summer.
The following student films were selected to screen on May 29-June 3 at Animafest 2012 World Festival of Animated Film in Zagreb, Croatia:

Several Character Animation program student films were selected to screen at the 3rd Festival du Film Merveilleux & Imaginaire on June 28-30. The festival screening took place at Théâtre Douze in Paris. The CalArts official selections “in compétition” were drawn from the 2011 CalArts Character Animation Producer’s Show:

Hiroshima 2012 14th International Animation Festival will be held Aug. 23-26 in Hiroshima, Japan. The festival has selected 66 works from 2,110 entries, of which two are CalArts Experimental Animation student films:

- Triangle by Grace Rhee (MFA 13)
