The LA Stage Alliance announced the winners of the 2014 Ovation Awards in a black tie ceremony at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse on Nov. 2. The award recognizes excellence in theatrical performance, production and design in the greater Los Angeles area.
Three CalArtians were among the award winners:
- Jenny Foldenauer (Theater MFA 12) won the award for Costume Design for her work on Sheila Callaghan’s play Everything You Touch at the Theatre @ Boston Court;
- Hugo Armstrong (Theater BFA 98) was recognized as Featured Actor in a Play for his portrayal of Ted in Echo Theater Company’s Backyard; and
- Adam Flemming (Theater MFA 07) was honored for his Video Design of Skylight Theatre Company’s Wrong Man.
The night’s big winner was Skylight Theatre Company’s Wrong Man, which won four awards, followed by Theatre @ Boston Court’s Everything You Touch and Geffen Playhouse’s The Country House, which both won three.
