On Friday (Sept. 4), the Animation Guild’s Gallery 839 in Burbank presents work by CalArts alumna Denise “Dee” Chavez (Film/Video BFA 00). The exhibit, titled Every Little Thing, features hand painted designs on wood displaying illustrative and whimsical characters, with a touch of darkness.

Chavez is an illustrator whose work has been shown all throughout California and abroad. She has been a background painter for Nickelodeon’s El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera, co-created by fellow alum Jorge Gutierrez (Film/Video MFA 00) and Sandra Equihua. She is currently working as a Background Designer for Dreamworks TV. She is also the creator of the highly popular Facebook sticker pack HamCat.
