Vulture Video Tackles the Meaning of ‘A113’

Vulture, the culture and entertainment site from New York magazine, tackles the popular “A113” Easter Egg in the video: This Mysterious Number Appears in Cartoons Everywhere, and You Probably Didn’t Even Know It.

As many CalArtians already know, A113 refers to the former character animation classroom where many animation artists—including Disney/Pixar’s John Lasseter (Film/Video BFA 79), Brad Bird (Film/Video BFA 76), Andrew Stanton (Film/Video BFA 87) and Pete Docter (Film/Video BFA 90)—studied during their time at CalArts. The classroom is currently a School of Art graphic design studio.

While the secret’s not-so-secret anymore, it’s still fun to revisit the CalArts connection in videos like the one posted below:
