CalArts is opening its doors to the community this Thursday evening (Dec. 12) for the first Holiday Pop-Up Market, featuring handcrafted gifts plus live music, food and drink.
The 30 shops run by alumni and local artisans will sell gifts ranging from jewelry, posters and apparel to ceramics and other home goods. Festive food will be for sale, along with cider and a hot chocolate station. At the beer and wine bar, our CalArts exclusive 24700 IPA will be on tap, an artisan brew created by Archie Carey (Music MFA 11) of SoLArc Brewing.
Animator and CalArts alumnus Marc Ratner (Film/Video 92) will also be on campus to draw custom caricature portraits, and students from The Herb Alpert School of Music at CalArts will be performing an array of holiday tunes.
The Holiday Pop-Up kicks off at 6:30 pm, and guests are encouraged to stay after for the final Gallery Night of 2016.
