Character Animation Art Show at Gallery Night

Adding to the collage of posters that paper CalArts’ walls is an eye-catching flyer (see above) for a Character Animation art show taking place during Gallery Night tonight (Thursday, Jan. 25).

The student-run show features artwork by more than 50 students from all year levels of the program. The eclectic exhibition is also giving gallery-goers the opportunity to have their caricatures drawn. The show is in the Black and White Gallery (A404) and starts at 10 pm on Thursday night.

Yaou Chen (BFA 21) is one of the many character animation students whose work will be showcased at the event. “This [event] shows the process of what we’ve been doing,” Chen remarked, when asked what attendees should expect. “You will see that the work we present here is really personal; this is work we are very proud of.”

So excited for the show! Huge thanks especially to Jackie Files (BFA4) for her effort in finding a gallery space and organizing the event! Without her hard work the show wouldn’t have been possible. Thanks also to Jamie Lim for designing the poster, as well as other classmates who contributed their artwork and helped set up!

Also, credit should be given to the student’s wonderful work hanging on the walls. The pictures include art from Lindsay Scanlan, Jackie Files, Caroline Quach, Kris Stanton, Anya Martin, and others.
