CalArts Alumnx Community Hosts Open Multimedia Mic Night

Alumnx Open Multimedia Mic Night on Aug. 9 at Thymele Arts in Los Angeles, CA.

This Wednesday (Aug. 8) CalArts’ GOLD Alumnx (Grads of the Last Decade) are hosting an open multimedia mic night at the Thymele Arts incubator/performing arts space in Los Angeles, which is owned and operated by John Henningsen (Theater MFA 15). Think of the gathering as a karaoke-variety-performance-screening night, but with CalArts’ flair.

Organized into two sets, the first is hosted by Matt Kelly (Theater BFA 17), and features works by Lucas Morin (Music BFA 16) and Melanie Carroll-Dolci (Music BFA 14); Justine Jamie (Art BFA 15); Jesse VanDenKooy (Music BFA 15, Critical Studies MFA 17); Eliane Lima (Film/Video MFA 17); and Mac Rasmus (Theater BFA 18). The second set lineup will be filled the day of the event with sign-ups available on a first come, first served basis.

Visual and installation art by Jaime and Shih-lien Yen (Theater MFA 18) will be on display along the perimeter of the room.

Attendees will be entered into a raffle to win passes to CalArts Weekend and gift cards to Scoops Ice Cream, owned by fellow CalArtian Tai Kim (Art BFA 95).
