Images from Move-in Day and New Student Orientation at CalArts

CalArts doesn’t officially start classes until next week (Sept. 10), but over the Labor Day holiday weekend, first-year students moved into their dorm rooms to begin new adventures and new chapters in their lives. They were moved in by family and friends, with assistance from CalArts’ staff, including President Ravi S. Rajan.

The move-in day on Sunday, Sept. 2, also coincided with the start of Orientation Week 2018, filled with workshops and information sessions on how to navigate CalArts. The Provost’s “Panel for Families: Resources for Student Success,” signaled Tracie Costantino’s first official orientation event as the Institute’s new Provost.

As a reminder to both new and returning students, Course Advising Day takes place on Thursday, Sept. 6, and Monday, Sept. 10 marks the first day of fall classes.
