Netflix’s upcoming live-action/animation hybrid series Lost Ollie, executive produced by CalArtian Shannon Tindle (Film/Video 99), has announced its main cast.

Deadline reports that the series’ newly set star-studded cast includes Jonathan Groff (Hamilton, Frozen), Kesler Talbot (50 States of Fright, Nancy Drew), Mary J. Blige (Power Book II: Ghost, Mudbound), Tim Blake Nelson (O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Watchmen), Gina Rodriguez (Kajillionaire, Jane the Virgin), and Jake Johnson (Jurassic World, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse). Cast members will provide both live action and voice acting roles.

The story follows Ollie (voiced by Groff), a toy who treks across the countryside in search of Billy (Talbot), the creative young boy who lost him. Along the way, Ollie meets and joins forces with other toys, including the fearless scruffy teddy bear Rosy (Blige) and the good-natured clown doll Zozo (Nelson). Rodriguez plays Billy’s nurturing mother Sharon, and Johnson plays his overworked father James.

Tindle adapted and created the series from William Joyce and Brandon Oldenburg’s book Ollie’s Odyssey. His previous film credits include story creator of the stop-motion animated feature Kubo and the Two Strings (2016) and character designer of Coraline (2009).
