One of last week’s noon concerts in the Institute’s Main Gallery featured vocalists from The Herb Alpert School of Music at CalArts. We caught a few songs from Maurice Ravel’s one-act opera L’enfant et les sortilèges: Fantaisie lyrique en deux parties (The Child and the Spells: A Lyric Fantasy in Two Parts).
Lauren Davis (Music BFA 13) sang the “Fire Aria” from the opera (posted above). In the video, she’s accompanied on piano by CalArts voice faculty member Tali Tadmor.
