Tomorrow (Nov. 20), nine CalArtians share selected images and their experiences from the Doc’s Kingdom International Documentary Conference. The world-renowned conference, held in September on the islands of Azores, Portugal, is an immersive affair that combines—and goes beyond—the experience of film festivals and academic training initiatives.
From the Doc’s Kingdom website:
The seminar focuses on producing an encounter: in which films, texts, debates, screenings and even social events play their part in a continuous, informal and cumulative experience; in which every moment, providing the chance for the sharing of information and exchanging of ideas, allows for an educational leap and a memorable experience in the lives and careers of participants.
Tomorrow’s event, titled Doc’s Kingdom Program, includes presentations, a “blind screening” wherein a film chosen by the student filmmakers and unknown to the audience is screened, followed by a reception.
