On Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 4 pm PST, the Twisted Spruce World Music Foundation presents the virtual premiere of the interdisciplinary project Parts, Together, composed by Azariah Felton (Music MFA 21) and set to animation by Chia-Hsin Lee (Film/Video BFA 20).
The work features the talents of the 2020 World Ensemble Animation Ensemble, a diverse group of 100 classical guitarists whose recordings of Felton’s composition are set to Lee’s animation.
The project was organized as a response to COVID-19 to encourage connection during isolation. Per Twisted Spruce, Lee’s animation “underscores the narrative that we are a global community, uniquely diverse, and #AloneTogether.”
The premiere of Parts, Together will be livestreamed at 4 pm PST on the International Guitar Institute and Twisted Spruce Music Foundation Facebook pages, as well the latter’s YouTube channel at 4:15 pm PST.
