On Friday, May 29, the Colburn School in downtown L.A. presents Modern and Popular Music Jukebox, a virtual concert featuring CalArts student and multi-instrumentalist Maya Paredes (Music BFA 23).
Paredes’ show marks the final installment of the school’s Next Up Series’ 2021-21 cycle, featuring select Colburn alumni (Paredes is a graduate). Ranging from ensemble recordings to solo works, she and her CalArtian collaborators present an “exciting collection” of original works and arrangements of Latin American, Black American, pop, indie, and electronic music.
