Seen @ CalArts: Guest Artist Kathleen Fisher Sets Iconic Trisha Brown Dance Piece

During the last few weeks of the semester, The Sharon Disney Lund School of Dance at CalArts welcomed visiting artist Kathleen Fisher, who taught both dance technique classes and set Trisha Brown’s iconic dance piece, Set and Reset/Reset for the Winter Dance Concerts, which were held both on campus and at REDCAT earlier this month.

In the video posted above (taken during a dance class/lecture), Fisher discusses Brown’s work and collaboration with artist Robert Rauschenberg, who designed the set and costumes for the 1983 version of Set and Reset, and Laurie Anderson, who composed the music (“Long Time No See”).

Thanks to Elizabeth van Vleck for the video footage.
